Here’s Why you Don’t Feel Capable of Communicating the Gospel

Permission to Preach

If you have followed Let’s Echo for any amount of time, you know I believe we are all called and commission to communicate the Gospel. If you have continued following me it is because you agree with me. So why haven’t you acted yet?! Could it be because you secretly feel incapable? This is a real feeling that can be paralyzing! Without a doubt, you are more than capable.

You feel you are unable to preach the Gospel effectively for a few simple reasons:

You don’t understand the affirmation of the Father.

  • God would never tell you to do something you are not capable of doing.

    • He does not want to set you up to fail.

    • He will give you the words to speak. (Exodus 4:10-12)

  • He speaks life over your future by erasing your past. Corinthians 5:17

    • God affirms your future even though you feel you are disqualified by your past.

    • It pleases God to make you strong. (Psalm 89:17

You have not been taught to invest in yourself.

  • The Church world lives and dies by “FREE”.

    • Skilled teachers are expected to give everything away because “how can you charge for the Gospel?”

    • This is a misappropriated truth. The Gospel itself is free, however, those who work deserve their wages. 1 Timothy 5:18, Luke 10:7

  • Where your treasure is, there is your heart!  Matthew 6:21

    • You pay attention more when you have skin in the game.

    • Giving financially to someone who pours into you blesses them and gives you more confidence. As you invest in yourself, you invest in others.

You think you have to be born a speaker instead of becoming a speaker. 1 Peter 4:10-11

  • You can become the type of person you want to be through growth and training.

    • Conferences + Courses

    • Coaching + Counseling

  • Jesus trained His disciples in the following areas.

    • Thinking (Mark 13:4)

    • Faith (Luke 9:1-27)

    • Preaching (Matthew 1, 5-8)

If the original disciples needed training from Jesus in order to propagate the Gospel, (and clearly they did a great job otherwise we would not know about Jesus today) wouldn’t it be wise for you to invest in training your voice as well?

Bottom line: You are well able to use your voice even if you do not have academic education, weren’t born into a ministry family, aren’t on staff at a church, do not have access to a microphone, aren’t naturally a gifted speaker, or have a crazy past.

Why? Because you are free to invest in yourself every single day . You are free to partake of preaching trainings. This is one reason we created The Something to Say Stater Kit coming January 2022!! In this 5 week course you will learn how to clearly and confidently conquer the dreaded question of “what do I say,” when speaking for God (without overanalyzing and second guessing yourself every step of the way.)

The more you invest in your God-given calling, the more capable you will feel.

Tell us in the comments what you did in 2021 to invest in your calling and what you plan on doing in 2022 to invest in yourself!

I didn't come from a ministry background, but when I married my husband in 2010 with an Interior Design degree from LSU and no seminary training, he welcomed me into the ministry. In 2012, a prophetic couple told me that I had the anointing of Lydia, and God wanted to use it to funnel millions through the Kingdom by starting online courses and classes. At this time, I had NO dream or even thought of Let’s Echo, but I received the word from the Lord.

Today, I'm witnessing that prophetic word coming true. You are a prophetic word fulfilled and a dream come true!

The Preacher Girl Club empowers women to use their voice for Jesus through our online coaching community, practical courses, and leadership resources. Our members collaborate, speak at each other's events, write content together, and start ministries side by side.

If I can preach, so can you!
