Develop your Voice

Personal Growth

More than Words

Sorting out the issue of desire is a huge step in finding your voice. Congrats for having the bravery to finally put that accusation from your mind! The next thing to process is the idea of your development. Many people assume incorrectly that they can develop their speaking ability by simply improving the words that come out of their mouths. Communication is so much more than speaking!

Many experts suggest that over 90% of communication is nonverbal. This means that who you are, your attitudes and expressions will make or break your communication much faster than the actual words that come out of your mouth.

While everyone focuses on simply saying better words, to truly find your voice you will have to develop yourself.

Not just part of yourself. But your whole self.

Your mind, will, emotions, attitudes, perspectives, warmth, and charisma, are all important aspects of effective communication. Don’t allow this to intimidate you, but let it motivate you to develop yourself so you can be the communicator you desire to be

Daily Routine, your Secret Weapon

Let’s be real ya’ll, I am not a person who has ever been a fan of any daily discipline. Maybe when you read the heading for this section you rolled your eyes subconsciously and already said, “That’s not for me.”

The reality is, developing yourself is a critical part of being a great communicator, and the most powerful weapon to accomplish this is your daily routine.

What are you doing daily that makes you a little bit better than the day before? How can you engage some book, video, awesome course (like Something to Say), or relationship that will help you become a slightly better version of yourself? We won’t go into great depth on this now because we devote a whole week to coaching you on this important aspect in a future blog. For now, begin to evaluate your habits each day and see if you are preparing yourself to be a great communicator.

The Role of Courage

No matter how large or small the opportunity is, I can tell you that courage is a must for stepping out and communicating. Some call it being nervous. Others call it straight-up fear. But when you endeavor on the communication journey, you will inevitably face things that intimidate you or even make you want to quit. This is where you need to develop courage. Maybe you have never thought of courage as something you can develop, but I assure you that you can.

One of the ways we increase our courage is by allowing areas of our life that are now untouchable to come into the light of transformation.

In fact, in the development process, you will have to open up to any area of growth that may present itself, no matter how uncomfortable. This is one of the greatest ways to increase your courage.

When fears, insecurities, and past hurts get dealt with and properly processed, you will find your courage skyrocket!

Courage will carry you when you don’t think you can go on one more step. Courage will push you forward to open your mouth to the cashier when you are out shopping at Target. Courage will cause you to open your home to a small group. Courage will tell you to walk up those stairs and take that mic when everything in you wants to run and hide.

Courage is something built when no one is around and the bright lights are turned off.

Bottom Line: Are you ready to develop yourself to become the person you need to be in order to fulfill the dream in your heart of being a communicator? What can you start doing daily to develop yourself? Are you willing to do the work to develop your courage?

I believe in you and am praying for a waterfall of the courage of God to come pouring over you this week!

I didn't come from a ministry background, but when I married my husband in 2010 with an Interior Design degree from LSU and no seminary training, he welcomed me into the ministry. In 2012, a prophetic couple told me that I had the anointing of Lydia, and God wanted to use it to funnel millions through the Kingdom by starting online courses and classes. At this time, I had NO dream or even thought of Let’s Echo, but I received the word from the Lord.

Today, I'm witnessing that prophetic word coming true. You are a prophetic word fulfilled and a dream come true!

The Preacher Girl Club empowers women to use their voice for Jesus through our online coaching community, practical courses, and leadership resources. Our members collaborate, speak at each other's events, write content together, and start ministries side by side.

If I can preach, so can you!
