Why God Needs your Voice

Permission to Preach

Why you?

Have you ever seen a great communicator and thought to yourself, “Why would I ever try to communicate when there are people like that out there who seem to be so natural and dynamic at communication?”

You are not alone!

We have all felt that way. I know I have definitely felt that way many times in my communication journey and continue to have moments like this.

The reality is, just as we can always use more human beings with unique strengths and weaknesses (despite there already being amazing humans) so we need you to find your voice and speak out with the truth God has placed in your heart.

Here are 3 important truths to why your voice is so important:

  1. You have a unique experience and story that can contribute to the world around you.

  2. You are a child of God and carry the DNA of God. This means you can Echo His Word in the earth with an identity that is powerful.

  3. You have a God-given passion to use your voice for Jesus. If you didn’t, you would not have invested your time into reading this right now!

Desire is good. Desire to communicate the Gospel is GOOD.

One of the most insidious accusations of the enemy is that wanting to communicate is a bad thing or comes from a place of wrong motives. People find their calling by pursuing the things they desire.

The fact that you are interested in communicating is a big sign. The fact that you are reading a blog on communication is an even bigger sign. The fact that you are following through and growing in your communication right now is the biggest sign!

Let’s say for argument’s sake that you are doing all this out of ambition. Ambition not proof of a wrong direction!

It may be misguided, but with some proper training misguided motives can be molded into pure motives. In other words, don’t sweat your motivation. Pursue what is in your heart and the Holy Spirit will guide you to the right motivation.

It is a trick of the enemy to stop you from pursuing your God-given call with distractions about your motivation. Pursue with all your heart and leave it in the hands of God. He will redirect your motives.

You have something to say!

The takeaway of this week is believing you have something to say.

In my journey, this was the biggest obstacle for me. When it came down to the opportunity to speak, my first thought would always be “I don’t have anything to say.” That is where the term ECHO came into my heart.

It is not up to you or me to have something to say.

All we have to do is Echo what we hear Jesus saying. He said what He heard His Father saying. Jesus WAS the original Echo. He modeled what it meant to Echo the Father.

Talk about a daunting task to come down and be the Living Word! He had to fulfill every prophecy about Himself and could say nothing that was not perfection concerning God and how we are to live as His followers.

If there was ever pressure on someone to have the right thing to say, it was Christ! He dealt with it in the same you and I should deal with it… by being an Echo!

Once you get past the fear of not having something to say or feelings of inadequacy, you have to realize that what you say will always be unique because it comes from your mouth. What comes out of your mouth is shaped by your experiences, family, learning, encounters with God, and a million other things. This uniqueness is needed and special.

Bottom line: you say what you hear Him saying from the Word and by His Spirit and you let it flow from your place of individual uniqueness. Trust me today and receive this word over your life.

You have something to say!

Let this truth be firmly planted in your heart.

I didn't come from a ministry background, but when I married my husband in 2010 with an Interior Design degree from LSU and no seminary training, he welcomed me into the ministry. In 2012, a prophetic couple told me that I had the anointing of Lydia, and God wanted to use it to funnel millions through the Kingdom by starting online courses and classes. At this time, I had NO dream or even thought of Let’s Echo, but I received the word from the Lord.

Today, I'm witnessing that prophetic word coming true. You are a prophetic word fulfilled and a dream come true!

The Preacher Girl Club empowers women to use their voice for Jesus through our online coaching community, practical courses, and leadership resources. Our members collaborate, speak at each other's events, write content together, and start ministries side by side.
