How to Grow into and Own your Voice

Personal Growth

As the woman behind the message you have laid the foundation for your character, changed the framework of your thinking, opened the front door of your life to new relationships.

Now you are ready to start working on your future by committing to grow every day

This may be a foreign concept to you or something you have tried to implement for years. Either way, I want to stress the importance of preparing to be who you need to be in the future when the opportunities you so ant come knocking on your door…because they will come knocking!

Your day is the microcosm of your life.

Your future growth begins with learning to manage and eventually maximize your day. As simple as this may sound, there is no way to be all you have been called to be without becoming an efficient steward of your greatest asset, time.

Let’s start with the simple understanding that your day is the microcosm of your life. If your days are a hot mess, your life will be a hot mess! You can’t wander aimlessly through your days and expect to have a productive, fulfilling life. Chaos is the default and distraction is the mode of operation for the masses. This is not you!

You are focused, decisive, action-oriented, and value preparing for the call on your life to communicate.

Solomon was the wisest man who ever lived. He wrote the book of Proverbs to help us attain the wisdom he was given by God. He begins by exhorting us to discipline. Yea discipline! Why would he begin there and mention it twice in regards to getting wisdom? Because every good thing comes with a price tag. You know that from shoe shopping :). Wisdom is said to be the avenue for reaching every goal and achieving every dream. The price tag? Discipline. You may feel like that is price you will never pay or you may ask, “Can I wait for that to go on sale?” I want to encourage you today. Discipline is something I have to fight for every day and many times it seems it is getting the best of me. This brings calm over chaos.

But because I know the payoff is greater than anything I can imagine I continue to pay the price for wisdom and commit myself to increasing my discipline.

The best way to get started is by starting small.

Don’t try to study the Word 2 hours every day of the week. Start with making your bed in the morning. Make that a habit and you will get a notch in your discipline belt. Start small and watch your discipline grow.

Apply what you are learning.

Many have made the mistake of thinking that growth is simply watching a video or listening to a podcast.

While those things are great starting points, all true growth begins when you apply what you have learned and take action! Finding some sort of new idea or strategy to better yourself has never been easier. Making the time and putting forth the focus to implement that idea has never been harder!

Let me encourage you to be very selective in what you choose to pursue in growth.

I would much rather see you find one person who can be a leading voice or mentor in your life for a season than just shotgun learning from all over and hearing different voices every day all giving you advice that is different and sometimes contradictory. One of my favorite people to listen to is Les Brown. He inspires me and motivates me to press on in my quest to serve you girls just like you who have a desire to communicate. You may not resonate with Les but there is definitely someone out there that can get your started down the path of growth and be your motivating force each day. At some point, you will find someone who is better suited for your next season but for now find your person and stick with it!

Bottom Line:

  • Your day– focus on making every day your masterpiece and learn to script your day to the hour and then even the minute.

  • Your discipline– start small and learn to grow your discipline. Every good thing in life follows an increase in your personal discipline.

  • Your deployment– train yourself to take action on a few things above constantly discovering new things are exciting but don’t contribute to your overall progression.

Which of these ares challenges you the most? Let us know in the comments!

I didn't come from a ministry background, but when I married my husband in 2010 with an Interior Design degree from LSU and no seminary training, he welcomed me into the ministry. In 2012, a prophetic couple told me that I had the anointing of Lydia, and God wanted to use it to funnel millions through the Kingdom by starting online courses and classes. At this time, I had NO dream or even thought of Let’s Echo, but I received the word from the Lord.

Today, I'm witnessing that prophetic word coming true. You are a prophetic word fulfilled and a dream come true!

The Preacher Girl Club empowers women to use their voice for Jesus through our online coaching community, practical courses, and leadership resources. Our members collaborate, speak at each other's events, write content together, and start ministries side by side.

If I can preach, so can you!
