How to Grow Into and Own Your Voice: A Practical Guide

Personal Growth

As a woman with a message to share, you’ve already laid a solid foundation. You’ve shaped your character, transformed your thinking, and opened your life to new relationships. It’s time to focus on the future by committing to daily growth. Whether this is a new concept or something you’ve struggled to implement, the importance of preparing yourself for future opportunities can’t be overstated. Those opportunities will come knocking, and you must be ready to answer. So, what personal growth tips do I have for you so you can own your voice?

Personal Growth Tips - How to Grow Into and Own Your Voice

Growth Tip #1 – Your Day: The Microcosm of Your Life

Your future growth hinges on how you manage your day. While it may sound simple, maximizing your time is crucial to becoming all you’re called to be. Remember, your day is a snapshot of your life. If your days are chaotic, your life will follow suit. Aimless wandering through your days won’t lead to a productive, fulfilling life. Instead, focus on becoming a steward of your greatest asset—time.

You are someone who is focused, decisive, and action-oriented. You value preparation for your calling, especially when it comes to communication.

Growth Tip #2 – Discipline: The Price Tag of Wisdom

Solomon, the wisest man in history, emphasized the importance of discipline in the book of Proverbs. Why? Discipline is the price tag for wisdom, which, in turn, is the pathway to achieving every goal and dream. You might feel like discipline is something you can’t achieve or that you’d rather wait for a “sale” on it. Trust me, I get it—discipline is a daily battle, and sometimes it feels overwhelming.

But the payoff is worth it. I continue to fight for discipline because I know it leads to greater rewards than I can imagine. Start small—don’t overwhelm yourself by studying the Word for two hours daily. Begin with simple tasks, like making your bed each morning. Build this habit, and soon, you’ll see your discipline growing.

Growth Tip #3 – Apply What You’re Learning

Many people mistake consuming content—like videos or podcasts—as growth. While these are great starting points, true growth happens when you apply what you’ve learned. Finding new ideas for self-improvement is easier than ever, but implementing them takes focus and effort.

Be selective in your growth journey. Instead of taking advice from multiple sources, find one mentor or leading voice to guide you through this season. Les Brown has been that person for me; his words motivate me to serve and communicate effectively. You might find someone else who resonates with you. Stick with them, and let their guidance shape your growth.

Bottom Line for Personal Growth

  • Your Day: Treat each day as a masterpiece. Plan your day down to the hour, even the minute, to maximize your time.
  • Your Discipline: Start small and steadily grow your discipline. Every good thing in life follows an increase in personal discipline.
  • Your Deployment: Focus on taking action rather than constantly seeking new ideas. Action is what drives progress.

I didn't come from a ministry background, but when I married my husband in 2010 with an Interior Design degree from LSU and no seminary training, he welcomed me into the ministry. In 2012, a prophetic couple told me that I had the anointing of Lydia, and God wanted to use it to funnel millions through the Kingdom by starting online courses and classes. At this time, I had NO dream or even thought of Let’s Echo, but I received the word from the Lord.

Today, I'm witnessing that prophetic word coming true. You are a prophetic word fulfilled and a dream come true!

The Preacher Girl Club empowers women to use their voice for Jesus through our online coaching community, practical courses, and leadership resources. Our members collaborate, speak at each other's events, write content together, and start ministries side by side.
